KFMC and Zahra Association initiate Breast Screening Training Program

Under the auspices of Her Royal Highness Princess Haifa Bint Faisal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, chairman of Zahra Breast Cancer Association, and with the presence of Dr. Fahmi Al Senani, Executive Director of Academic Affairs and Training in KFMC; KFMC held an opening ceremony on Sunday for Breast Screening Training Course for female radiological technicians in Healthcare Skills Training Institute of the College of Medicine at KFMC, which was allocated 30 training hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

The program provides many benefits, most importantly is learning about breast anatomy and physiology, indentifying ways of breast screening and QA and techniques of QC. Also it will give female trainees an opportunity to meet a variety of female representatives and participants in the campaign of Early Detection of Breast Cancer aimed at raising awareness about the diseases in the community. Furthermore, the program will highlight the state of art technologies in this field and give female trainees an opportunity to interact with female trainers during practical training sessions.

Her Royal Highness Princess Haifa Bint Faisal expressed her pleasure for holding this course which provides female trainees with latest technologies of breast screening for female radiological technicians and said: "I would like to thank KFMC officials for inviting us to sponsor this ceremony, I also give thanks to Oalyan Group for supporting the program, and General Electric for coordination and the National Program for Early Detection for their efforts in organizing and implementing the program, which will have a future scientific advantage in detection and treatment of breast cancer."

Dr. Fahmi Al Senani stated that implementing this training program is one of the key roles of KFMC, which are positively reflected in improving patient services by providing the state of art technologies in this field.
