• Nutrition Care Process such as Nutritional Assessment and re-assessment, nutritional risk level Diagnosis, Medical nutrition therapy, Nutritional monitoring, evaluation and intervention. 

• Manage all clinical nutrition departments and sections to unite as one in perspective and achievement of goals.
• Build a strong foundation of educational opportunities to enhance the improvement of the clinical dietitians and assist in the advancement of their career level.
• Support the hospital in delivering standard based services in order to uphold the reputation as leading in the healthcare industry in providing the best in nutrition support to inpatients and outpatients the public and community.
• Act as the central coordination of all activities involving clinical nutrition inside and outside of KFMC. 
• Providing nutrition therapy (Nutrient supplement and Enteral Formula) through Dietetic Support Section to discharge patient and outpatient.

Clinical Nutrition (Adults):
Serves adult patients who are nutritionally at risk are the customers who need the service of this department.

Special needs of patients:
Nutritional assessment, counseling and intervention to patients with eating disorders, bariatric and kidney problems, oncology and underweight patients.

Services:
Working with medical team to assess the nutritional needs and provide patient therapeutic support
• Promoting awareness to educate the patient, family and other members of the health care team
• Providing in-service education for other staff members
• Providing internship programs
• Educating mothers about breastfeeding
• Counseling and educating GDM patients
• Nutrition Management for Pressure Ulcer Patients


Clinical Nutrition (Pediatric):
Serves Pediatric patients who are nutritionally at risk are the customers who need the service of this department.

Special needs of patients:
Nutritional intervention as the main therapy for specific conditions; ketogenic, metabolic and GI.

Services:
Provides assessment and evaluation to the nutritional needs of pediatric patients
Provides nutritional counseling to the parents and caregivers of the patient
Take part as a member of the multidisciplinary team
Participates in Pediatric Rehabilitation and subspecialty service
Attends to outpatient consultations
Promoting awareness to the hospital and to the community
• Provides internship program


Clinical Nutrition (Outpatient):
Serves both adult and pediatric patients who are nutritionally at risk and there’s no need for them to be admitted. The Outpatient Clinical Nutrition covers 40 clinics per week of different specialties throughout KFMC hospitals and medical centers.

Special needs of patients:
Nutritional assessment, counseling and intervention to patients who needs nutritional therapy plan and supplement.

Services:
• Nutritional assessment and evaluation is done for outpatients by Clinical Dietitians.
• After patient is evaluated by the Clinical Dietitian in the clinic, the Clinical Dietitian will provide the nutritional therapy plan and nutritional supplements if needed.
• Patients will be booked for follow up to monitor intake, tolerance, laboratory results and improvement.
• Patient education.
• Cooperation with other medical specialists through multidisciplinary program or combined clinic to assess the nutritional needs of patients and provide therapeutic diet plan and support.
• Using special machine for body analysis for patient nutritional evaluation.
• Prescribes and refills formula according to patient’s medical condition
Out-Patients Education:
• Patient education is provided individually on therapeutic diets and adjusting the diet to meet patient’s needs.
• Increasing awareness through group teaching and support groups to share experiences.
• Education through training interns and employee.
• Providing audio and visual educational materials.
• Community Services: Cooperating to provide out-patient awareness programs.
