King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) has denied recent rumors that King Salman Heart Center (KSHC) of KFMC is closed and that it does not receive patients and visitors due to shortage of medical cadres. According to Al-Riyadh sources, KSHC provides its diagnostic and therapeutic services for heart patients in out-patient clinics, Admission Department and Cardiovascular Catheterization Department. A few days ago, PSHC has performed "in one day" more than 8 heart surgeries and around 14 cardiac catheterizations. In terms of capacity, PSHC is equipped with 122 beds and aims to provide world-standard therapeutic services for cardiovascular patients who are referred from across KSA. In October 2005; the first surgery of cardiac catheterization was performed in KFMC.
