The Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Medicine administration conducted more than 7 million tests and laboratory analyses for KFMC patients in 2017, indicating that bringing modern technologies to KSA would help to develop work as well as the medical staff.

This came during the World Day of the Clinical Laboratories organized yesterday by KFMC in the Main Hospital's lobby with the participation of all department related to Pathology & Clinical Laboratories.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Juryyan, Immunology & Clinical Laboratory Medicine Consultant and the chairperson of the organizing committee, said: "This event aims at highlighting the important role of clinical laboratory for all patients and their important role in diagnosing diseases and participating in the medical decision". "15 various departments with different specialties participated in the event, which gives an indication of great diversity in the clinical laboratories in an exhibition introducing all provided health services", he illustrated.

Dr. Al-Juryyan added, "Many studies have shown that the laboratory's role in diagnosing diseases ranging from 60 - 70% in making the medical decision,

which constitutes 2-5% of the health organization budget".

It is worth mentioning that the Pathology and Clinical Laboratory Medicine

Administration has been recently accredited by the College of American Pathologists "CAP".
