King Fahad Medical City (KFMC), represented by the Corporate Planning and Development Administration, celebrated the 10th anniversary of Quality Day, which is held annually at KFMC. All quality projects performed at all KFMC centers, hospitals and administrations are presented in this celebration by their representatives based on the Japanese strategy ( KAIZEN) within an agreement concluded between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Japan. The best quality projects winners will be honored at the closing ceremony next Thursday, within categories covering the most important aspects in quality management, namely effective communication, patient safety, patient experience and operations workflow effectiveness.
Dr. Al Yamany watched a film on patient safety standards accredited by the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions and the Joint Commission International through a scenario for several patients treatment journey within "multiple levels of the Ministry of Health hospitals".
Dr. Mahmoud Al Yamany emphasized that the most important strategies of King Fahad Medical City is to develop safety in healthcare and to raise its quality standards according to the highest international standards in this field, through the provided services to patients.
Dr. Al Yamany said "Today, we celebrate this day for the tenth year respectively. This day means a lot to us as it adopt and develop quality tools in the institution , which is important and necessary to make a positive impact on patients' care and the provided services to them. Quality day is an opportunity for quality professionals and practitioners in KFMC to celebrate their achievements during the year. This day assists KFMC to achieve its future vision in order to be a standard for applying quality in patient services locally and regionally and even globally, if Allah wills, by supporting some ideas and developmental initiatives related to the quality of services in various medical and clinical administrations".
On the other hand, Ms. Suzan Rasheed, Chairperson of Quality Management Department at KFMC clarified that the Quality Management Department is a department under the Corporate Planning and Development Administration. This Department plays an important role in providing consultation services to all KFMC departments and helps them to improve their quality services and results through the implementation of quality principles and follow-up the workflow of operations.
Ms. Suzan stated "The department also plays an important role in providing consultation services to KFMC departments, regarding the hospitals' accreditations, follow up the application of its standards and ensure its achievement. The Quality Day seeks to provide the opportunity for communication between healthcare providers in KFMC by raising the awareness of quality concept in the workplace, building teams that can create clear vision to achieve the quality of the provided services in order to ensure patients safety".
