In line with the KFMC’s Mission and Vision the Nursing Department contributes to KFMC becoming the leading tertiary institution in the Middle East, attracting and retaining competent nursing personnel committed to developing and maintaining a health centre of excellence by optimizing the nursing contribution to the health and well being of individuals, families and community through advanced nursing practice standards and promotion of professional development in an environment of collaboration and partnership with our patients, other health care professionals and the community.
The KFMC Nursing Department offers a challenging, diverse and rewarding experience for professional nurses development. Nurses are valued for their competent, flexible dedicated contribution to the development of KFMC and the Nursing Department.
The slogan for nursing is “The patient comes first”.
Nurses are encouraged to embrace the ‘Culture of Competence’ and to foster an environment where respect and understanding of the patient, colleague’s, variant cultures, values, and beliefs are respected.
Our patients are primarily Saudi nationals and family visiting is encouraged together with the attendant privileges. KFMC Nursing provides care for a rapidly growing number of patients as the bed capacity increases with the expansion of the City hospitals.
Objectives:
- To promote Saudization To implement recruitment and retention strategies.
- To formulate concise policy and procedure manuals that are standard throughout.
- To implement and administer a functioning quality improvement program.
- To collaborate with other departments in developing implementation of disaster planning.
- To enable nurses to achieve knowledge, skills, values and professional attitudes through interactive educational experiences designed to foster critical thinking and lifelong learning.
- To provide a structure utilizing competence based practice so that staff may accomplish their goals in nursing through upward mobility.
