The King Fahad Medical City Specialized Diabetes and Endocrinology Centre (SDEC) is an integrated medical facility where highly specialized medical and educational services are provided to patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders. The centre is located behind the mosque, in the same building as the Employee Health Clinic and Ophthalmology clinic. Including the director of the centre, Dr Safia Al-Sherbeeni, there are five full-time and one part-time consultant endocrinologists. The centre is also staffed by trainee doctors, diabetes educators, a dietician and a number of highly skilled nurses and administrative staff.
The centre is equipped for dealing with complex diabetes cases and endocrine disorders of the pituitary, parathyroid, thyroid and adrenal glands, as well as disorders of bone and calcium metabolism.

SDEC provides a comprehensive clinical service at a tertiary level to patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.

SDEC aims to become a centre of excellence for the treatment and research of diabetes and endocrine disorders.
